If it’s true what they say:  Love feeds the soul, then Friday I had the 72 oz steak.

This weekend Ross (remember, boyfriend and guinea pig?) asked me to marry him. And I said, “YES!”

My feet have yet to hit the ground. We had the most incredible weekend celebrating with family and friends. How lucky we are to have such wonderful people in our lives.

I’m up to my eyeballs in love. Woo!

We were celebrating Ross’ birthday (or so I thought) with dinner at York Street (yum.) and I was very concerned that we hadn’t ordered dessert before the meal, which is the way they do it there. I was also worried that Ross would drink the whole bottle of wine before I could finish a glass. I chalked it up to a rough day at the office. The waiter recommended the calf’s liver. I’m sure it’s delicious, if you’re into that sort of thing. And if you are, Sally Fallon would be proud. But I am not. I went with the bass; he had the veal cheeks. After a lovely dinner the waiter brought over dessert menus. My eyes scanned … lemon … chocolate … cake …

There were the words spelled out at the bottom of the menu. I looked up and Ross was down on one knee holding a box with the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. After a “WHAT?” an “OH MY GOD!” and maybe something else, I said, “yes.”

I heard the pop of champagne and there went the tears.

After a glass of champagne we headed to Hully & Mo where my parents; his parents, who had driven down from Virginia; and our friends were ready to celebrate.

One lucky girl right here. Absolutely amazing!
